2023 Caleb Alcineus is a prospect to watch in South Florida. The 6-foot-5 small forward plays for Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale. He joins a talented Chiefs team that won 20 games a season ago.

Alcineus averaged 14 points and 4.5 rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field as a junior. In addition, he made a team high 49 3-pointers while shooting 40 percent.

"I started playing basketball around seven years old," said Alcineus. "It was just your typical local city league and it was a lot of fun for me. I just continued to play ever since."

Michael Costeines is a regional scout based in South Florida. He has been covering both men's and women's basketball in the area since November 2018. Players he has scouted include Scottie Barnes, Zaire Wade, Vernon Carey Jr., Jordana Codio, and Ta'Niya Latson. Michael has previously worked for Prep Hoops and NBC Sports in Stamford, Connecticut. He is originally from Madison (CT) and received his bachelors degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
