Top Three North Carolina Shoe-Sponsored Players This Spring

Suwanee, GA —Throughout this spring at HoopSeen events players from all over the Southeast have came through the doors at Suwanee Sports Academy. Here is our look at the top three players over the spring from North Carolina on shoe-sponsored teams.

Day’Ron Sharpe, Garner Road

A man amongst boys was what Sharpe made the competition look like at The HoopSeen Tip-Off at the end of March. The North Carolina commit is bigger, stronger and just more polished than anyone else who came through the doors at Suwanee Sports Academy in our first event of the year. Sharpe runs the floor with purpose, defends and rebounds relentlessly and dunks emphatically. He can get by his defender off the dribble, he has a long wingspan that disrupts shot-selection and passing lanes and has one of the best motors I have seen for a big in a while. He was unstoppable in the post and showed he could stretch the floor if need be on occasion.

Josh Hall, Team Loaded NC

Hall burst onto the scene 10 months ago as he filled into his 6-foot-9 frame and made the move from Durham, North Carolina to Moravian Prep just outside Hickory. He has NBA size, he can really get hot from the outside with his long-range shooting and is able to get past defenders off the dribble. Hall is a mismatch problem with his ability to score from any spot on the floor. Hall thrives when the games are close and has that mentality not many have of wanting the ball in those situations. One difference I see in Hall that really intrigues me is his willingness to get better and how much he has improved over the last year

AJ Smith, Team Charlotte

Rare for a class of 2021 prospect to be mentioned in a category such as this but the bottom line was that Smith produced and did so at a high-rate. With some of Team Charlotte’s top players out because of prom, Smith showed that he is the next prospect out of Charlotte at either guard position. He was relentless at getting to the rim and either making the basket or getting on the free-throw line. He did a good job of not turning the ball over and he made plays on possession after possession.
