Prospect Profile: 2023 Carl Parrish

2023 Carl Parrish is a talented guard out of Miami Norland. The 6-foot-3 Parrish is the Vikings' team leader after helping the group win 20 games as a junior. He is looking for another 20-win season and more in his final go around.

Parrish averaged ten points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 41 percent from the field. In addition, he connected on 43 3-pointers at a 34 percent clip. Parrish will be counted on more with the departure of 2024 Marcus Allen to Arizona Compass Prep.

"I started playing basketball ever since I was three," said Parrish. "I started playing in a boys and girls club at the rec center."

Parrish is an assertive guard under head coach Lawton Williams. He can score from all areas of the floor using his speed and quickness. Parrish's outside shooting ability is particularly strong.

"The strength of my game is I can get by any defender with my speed. I also shoot the ball at a high level while seeing the court very well. That also helps get my teammates involved and gets them going."

Miami Norland won state championships in 2006, 2008, and 2012-2015. Parrish is looking to improve his game while adding another before heading to college.

"I am looking to improve on my body by getting bigger, faster, and stronger," said Parrish. "My goal for this season is to win states."

Parrish recently committed to Presbyterian College. He also had offers from Monmouth and Robert Morris. The Blue Hose are members of the Division-1 Big South Conference. Presbyterian is led by head coach Quinton Ferrell in his second season.

"The reason why I chose Presbyterian is because when I went on a visit they made me feel like home," said Parrish. "They were very welcoming to me."
