2021 G Jamarii Thomas is looking for a winning culture

Jamarii Thomas was one of the top guards we saw on our HoopSeen stage during the 2020 season. The Team Curry floor general did the things that you’d want from your championship level guards.

It was hard to not see his impact in action. We saw it and in our latest updated rankings, Justin Byerly placed Thomas as our No. 9 ranked player in the class of 2021 for the state of North Carolina.

To date, he said he has been offered by Catawba, Lees McCrae, Mars Hill, Stetson, UNC Pembroke and Winthrop. He said he is also hearing from Coastal Carolina, NC A&T, Oral Roberts, SIU Edwardsville, UNC Asheville and UNC Wilmington.

When it comes down to it, what exactly is he looking for the most in a prospective collegiate home?

“A program where I can come in and get good minutes,” Thomas said. “Also, a family and winning culture with a good relationship with the coaching staff.”

After seeing him shine at the Always Live Showcase, Byerly wrote

It was a coming out party of sorts for the point guard out of The Burlington School (NC). The 5-foot-10 lead guard showed that he is a legitimate college prospect with his performance against Team Huncho, scoring 15 points in the dogfight. With his sturdy frame, Thomas was able to get into the lane and make things happen for the Sim Frazier coached Team Curry squad. He went 6-8 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from the three point line while dishing out 6 assists in the win. He holds offers from Stetson and Winthrop along with a handful of Division II offers.
