HoopSeen/@BeTheBeastBTB Always Live Showcase Spotlight: Scoot Henderson

Scoot Henderson is good as advertised. His game speaks for itself. The guard from Game Elite Big Five 2022/Kell High School kid is a special talent. Fans and cameras flocked to whichever court he was playing on and it did not take long to understand why. Henderson has electric speed at the lead guard position. He simply blew by anyone that attempted to keep him in front.

“I like to play fast,” Henderson said. “I don’t think anyone my age or any age in high school can keep up with my pace.”

It was hard to argue with that statement. Playing up an age group, Henderson was right from what I saw. It was almost too easy for him to get to the rim. He uses his dribbles efficiently to get to any spot on the floor. He is sneaky athletic. He attempted a tomahawk dunk that made the gym go crazy even though he missed. He got so high up, his head was almost at the rim. He also uses his athleticism to make acrobatic finishes at the rim.

Henderson is also a great passer. I feel like that part of his game does not get talked about nearly as much as it should. Even with his great scoring ability, he has no problem making the extra to pass for an even better shot. He seems to have mastered the drive and kick which he displayed last night. With 12 seconds left, he got into the lane and kicked it out to his teammate Chase Cormier, who knocked down the corner three to win the game.

He has several college suitors including the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, and many more.

Henderson said that Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, and Florida State are recruiting him the hardest right now.

He does not have a timeline for a decision, but he will be looking for a couple of specific things when choosing a college.

“I want to go somewhere I can call home,” Henderson said. “I need to know they value family and loyalty.”

A player Henderson reminds me of is Colin Sexton. As we all know, Sexton is a high energy, athletic guard. Sexton impacts the game on both ends of the floor and sets the tone with his energy. Henderson plays the exact same way. It is evident why college coaches are all over him. This kid is the whole package and still has time to evolve before playing at the next level. Whichever school gets him will be more than satisfied.
