Tennessee Fall Preview camp team 7 evaluations

The inaugural Tennessee Fall Preview took place on Saturday and some of the best talent in the surrounding Nashville area converged at LaVergne high school for the state's premier exposure camp. Our staff came away impressed with several players. Here are our evaluations for team 7.

Andrew Lamuno, 2022 G, Ravenwood: The suaveness of Andrew Lamuno rubbed off on his teammates whenever he took the reigns as their lead guard. A cool, calm, and collected approach to the game was welcomed, especially as his teams took full-court pressure from the defense. His savviness as a passer led to easy points as he kicked ahead about as well as anyone at camp. A sneaky good handle, tied in which the ability to make open shots made him a well-rounded piece. Polished shot mechanics speak to the work he's put into his game.

Eli Lamuno, 2021 G, Ravenwood: The health of the overall team's defense was in the mind of Eli Lamuno as he made sure to cover more than just his man. As guys got beat he would rotate quicky to cover up any easy layup attempts. From a catch and shoot standpoint he excelled as a spot-up shooter and despite not getting a ton of attempts he stayed dialed in and in rhythm. The ultimate cherry on top for this workhorse is that he was noted as a very good teammate.

Marcus Williams, 2021 G, Northeast: A tough floor general that has supreme confidence. Williams led his team from the point spot and made sure they had some fluidity offensively. When he simplified his game he was productive with his use of a 1-2 dribble pullup. When defenses didn’t respect his speed he would use a burst of speed to attack the rim.

Jai Jordan, 2020 G, Lakeway Christian Academy: Division 2 programs need to do their research here as Jai Jordan displayed several qualities to make an impact at that level. In transition, he shines as an above the rim guard that can finish through contact. His evasiveness kept him out of trouble as he would get downhill but maneuver enough to stay out the way of charges. On the defensive end, his willingness to rebound and defend his position was impressive.

Santonio McDaniel, 2022 G, Riverdale: Ball handlers didn’t like the idea of McDaniel being the person to guard them once they passed the half-court line. A true pest at heart, McDaniel would mix it up with both bigs and littles before the day's end. Even on the glass he would battle with the bigs to true and secure a rebound for his team. As a playmaker, his best attribute was his ability to make some acrobatic finishes at the rim.

Keydon Bassham, 2022 G, Eagleville: This highly coachable prospect was dialed in throughout and it showed between the lines. Despite a few early misses, Bassham's confidence didn’t waver as he would go on to knock in some threes. Bassham never deviated from smart offense as he only took good shots from his spots on the floor.

Savon Wykle, 2020 G, Knowledge Academies: One of the few seniors at out camp displayed a great ability to finish from the wing when defenders pressed up on him. On a number of occasions, his rebounding allowed him to go coast to coast and push the break for easy lay-ins. When he didn’t have the ball, he ran the floor extremely hard and stretched the defense with his effort. As an opponent got hot from deep it was Wykle that switched over and cooled him off.
