Florida's 2021 forward Josh Minott has next
There was a lot of talent on hand at the 2019 Hoop Exchange Fall Festival. A lot. Sorting through our notes there were a number of players who are on the trajectory of a big step to the next level of recruitment and overall skill development.
Josh Minott is one of those players.
The 6-foot-8 forward from Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton was one of the top eye-catchers in the field from the class of 2021 at the event. He uses his long frame to cause problems on both sides of the ball. Minott plays big and long and above the rim on defense. On offense, he pops out to the three-point line and drilled three-pointers.
Minott said he holds offers from Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, North Texas, Rice and Stetson while Baylor, Central Florida, Illinois State, Oklahoma and Yale are also in the mix. He said he would like to visit North Texas.
Minott helped his Landfall Elite 16 and under team go 7-0 at the 2019 Best of the South and played a big role in that undefeated run on the biggest stage of the summer.
Minott’s game resembles Matthew Cleveland, a consensus top 50 prospect in the class of 2021 from Atlanta’s Pace Academy.
