Joe Bamisile talks offers and visits as his recruitment begins to heat up

Joe Bamisile has been rapidly trending upward as the 6'5 combo guard has racked up offers in recent weeks from several quality programs. For player that describes himself as "silky smooth and athletic at the same time" Bamisile has impressed from at an early age, picking up his first division one offer from Richmond at thirteen years old. That offer was a sign of things to come as  several others have since joined the party.

Programs such as VCU, Old Dominion, St. Louis, Siena, George Mason, Detroit, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, and Florida have all extened offers to the Virginia native. Despite the uptick in his recruitment, Bamisile has kept a level head in regards to so many teams being in pursuit of his talents.

"For the most part, Im an even keel type of person. I never get too high or too low. I'm just really greatful for the opportunity to be seen by colleges because some kids play as hard as they can their whole life and never get an opportunity, so every offer I get means almost the same to me because it shows that coaches see a difference in my game from any other kid."

Eyeing a commitment before his next highschool season, Bamisile spoke about his past and upcoming visits that he expects to take.

"I've been to West Virginia, UVA, and when I was younger I went to VCU. I plan on going to Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, NC State and Siena. I was suppossed to go to Pittsburgh last weekend but some family stuff came up so I had to stay back for that. The West Virginia visit, they let me be in the locker room before the game with the entire team so I got to be apart of the team for that game before they played Texas. It was interesting to see. I wasnt expecting that to happen. When they got back from warmups before the game the coach told me to come on. When they went to play I went back to my seat but that was pretty cool."

When asked about any early favorites, the Mountaineers made a great first impression with thier inclusion of him in their pre game preparation.

"Based off the West Virginia visit it made me really like them alot but I've only been on two or three visits that I can compare. But in terms of where I've been so far and people I've got to be around, I've defienlty got to be around the West Virginia coaching staff a lot more than other schools."

Although there is still plenty of basketball to be played, there's been some thought into what type of situation Bamisile can see himself thriving in.

"I think I want to see which schools have the most geniuine coaches and have a good and authentic environment. You have to choose a place where there's not 10 guards on a team that plays similiarly to how I do so why would i want to be in a situation like that, so I think its important to evaluate each situation, each opportunity. Where I will be able to play, and pay through mistakes. I dont think its good for any player to accidentaly turn the ball over and be looking over your shoulder like you might come out of the game. It's important to have trust in your coach that I'm going to make a mistake and learn from it and move on to the next play. Rather than to make a mistake, be on the bench for five minutes and now when I come in I'm second guessing what I do on the court. So I think those few things are most important to me. Obviously I want to be in a situation thats family oriented where the whole team is together rather than individual parts."
