Junior Keon Johnson pencils in two official visits
2020 Bell Buckle (TN) Webb School wing Keon Johnson was one of the most impressive prospects we saw during the travel season, and, as expected, many college coaches took notice.
In fact, a flurry of high-major programs tracked him closely during July, but none more than at #BOTS. The rising junior played host to a variety of head coaches and assistants, ranging from Virginia's Tony Bennett to Western Kentucky's Rick Stansbury.
With the majority of the SEC hot on his trail, Johnson and his family are prepared to take the next step with his recruitment. The Tennessee native has scheduled two official visits for this fall. Vanderbilt will host him for a visit the weekend of September 8th, and then he will make the trip to Auburn the weekend of October 13th.
Both Vanderbilt and Auburn have been recruiting Johnson extremely hard. Bryce Drew and Bruce Pearl roamed the sidelines watching him throughout the summer. The top-50 prospect has already visited both campuses unofficially.
Johnson's mother, Conswella Sparrow Johnson, was a standout for the Tigers during the 90's. She was named an SEC All-American twice.
In addition to Auburn and Vanderbilt, Johnson is also being recruited hard by Ole Miss, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest, Iowa State, and Stanford.
