CJ. Walker breaks down top five schools

There wasn't a more impressive riser from the travel season than 2019 forward C.J. Walker. The 6-foot-8 position-less prospect made a rapid rise up the rankings during the high school season, but it wasn't till this spring and summer with E1T1 that many saw the improvement and talent from the five-star prospect.

The Florida native, who just recently transferred to Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge, makes a difference on both ends of the floor with his demeanor and constant motor. Walker’s full arsenal was on display during July at the Best of the South, as he was pegged as one of the top players in attendance. With the ability to play inside and out, some of the top schools in the country were on-hand to follow him closely.

Over the weekend, Walker narrowed his final list to five schools: Arizona, Florida, LSU, Miami, and Oregon. He outlined what he liked about each school with HoopSeen.com.

Arizona: "Arizona came on late but they have been making me a priority. Plus, they have a pipeline to the league. It's a good school."

Florida: "Florida really fits my style of play. I have been to their campus the most out of all the schools in my top five. It's close to home, too."

LSU: I have a great relationship with Coach Bedford. My big bro Emmitt [Williams] is there, too. They're looking for me to play right away."

Miami: "It's like home to me. They develop their wings and forwards quickly to be prepared for the NBA."

Oregon: "I have a great relationship with Coach Stubbs, and their tempo and the way they play freshmen fits my style of play."

With his list trimmed to five schools, Walker will now begin to take official visits. None have been scheduled yet, but they are the next step in his recruitment.

"No official visits have been scheduled yet but we are handling it now. I do know I will be committing in November and then signing in the spring," he explained.

Walker is ranked 15th overall in the 2019 HoopSeen national rankings.
