#ATLJAM Spotlight: Devin Butts
2019 Macon (GA) Stratford Academy shooting guard Devin Butts was one of the most prolific scorers (and players) at the #ATLJam over the weekend. As expected, some of the top mid-major programs in the South tracked him closely throughout the weekend.
Over the course of the two April evaluation periods, the 6-foot-5 sharpshooter landed a handful of mid-major scholarship offers -- and he may not be done yet.
"I have offers from Jacksonville State, Winthrop, Stetson, Georgia State, Troy, East Tennessee State, and Canisius," Butts told HoopSeen.com. "UNC-Greensboro, Middle Tennessee State, UAB, and Mercer are showing interest."
Several head coaches from those respective programs tracked him closely at the Atlanta Jam, including on Sunday as he led his Team Georgia Magic team to a championship performance against EAB.
Butts was one of the best players we had at the Atlanta Jam. He knocked down double-digit 3's over the course of the weekend, including seven three-pointers against the Atlanta Timberwolves on Saturday. With his ability to stretch the floor and his size, don't be surprised if more programs from the Sun Belt and Conference USA and beyond begin to recruit him.
