Berrick Jean Louis picks South Alabama
South Alabama landed their first pledge in the 2018 class on Thursday after Fort Myers (FL) Canterbury School wing Berrick Jean Louis announced his commitment to the Jaguars.
"I have a great relationship with the coaches," Jean Louis told HoopSeen.com. "I feel like I fit in well at South Alabama."
Jean Louis, a 6-foot-5 slasher, had a strong travel season with Team Knight. Capable of playing multiple positions on the perimeter, the lengthy athlete was a tough matchup for opposing teams. To go along with his versatility, Jean Louis was nearly impossible to stop going to the rim. When in attack mode, the Floridian is extremely dangerous and should thrive in the Sun Belt. Jean Louis is a quality prospect with his offensive skill-set, defensive prowess, versatility, and speed.
With the ability to do many things on the floor, Jean Louis will be an interesting asset for Matt Graves and South Alabama. The coaching staff has big plans for him, too.
"Coach Graves sees me playing multiple positions and guarding multiple positions. He really sees that I have the potential to be a really good player and help the program."
Jean Louis took an official visit to campus over the weekend. He also considered scholarship offers from UAB and Wofford.
