Penn State lands pledge from 2018 guard Rasir Bolton

Pat Chambers and the Penn State Nittany Lions received good news following the conclusion of the second July evaluation period Sunday evening, as 2018 Huntington (WV) Prep combo guard Rasir Bolton made his pledge to the Big Ten program.

Heading into the month, the Penn State staff made Bolton their top priority and it looks like their decision paid off. Chambers followed him closely over the past two weeks.

"The coaching staff made me the No. 1 priority, and Coach Chambers and I have a great relationship with each other," Bolton told HoopSeen.com. "I thought Penn State was the best school for me."

At 6-foot-2, Bolton has the ability to play either guard spots with his tremendous feel for the game and ability to shoot the ball. His ball skills make him an intriguing option in the backcourt, and, coupled with fellow pledge Myles Dread, the tandem should make a solid tandem for years to come for the up-and-coming Nittany Lions.

"The chance to play in a Power 5 conference is huge to me. Academically, the school offers tons of opportunities and has the largest alumni network in the world."

Bolton, a top-100 guard, chose Penn State over scholarship offers from St. Joseph's, VCU, and Pittsburgh.
