Schools coming on strong for 2018 wing Ryan Boyce
2018 Memphis (TN) Houston wing Ryan Boyce made a loud impression this spring on the travel circuit with his athleticism and scoring ability for Team Penny.
To no one's surprise, the four-star prospect is staying busy with his recruitment, with several programs hot on his trail heading into the summer months.
"Georgia and Maryland are my latest offers," Boyce told HoopSeen.com. "Florida, LSU, SMU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Memphis, Tulsa, Wake Forest, UMass, and UT-Martin are some of the other schools involved, too."
At 6-foot-6, college coaches have been impressed with Boyce's elite athleticism and leaping ability. He has also developed into a reliable shooter and scorer from the mid-range, with some flashes of becoming a dangerous shooter from behind the arc. His length and defensive versatility have coaches intrigued, too.
"I know I need to work on my ball-handling and being a more consistent shooter from 3, but a lot of coaches have told me they really like my game. I'm mainly looking for a team that pushes the tempo and plays as a team. I like to run the floor and share the ball."
Boyce has been out-spoken about one school that has really caught his eye early. The Florida Gators made an early impression with him and continue to develop a strong relationship.
"Florida is very family oriented and I know I'm a priority for them. I'm planning on taking a visit to campus this month," he explained.
The Memphis product has already visited Ole Miss and Mississippi State unofficially. He hopes to make an official visit back to Starkville in the fall, as well as a trip to Villanova, who has been showing interest.
However, if an official visit to Gainesville transpires during the month of June, it may be hard for Boyce to say no to the Gators, who have made him a top priority throughout the recruiting process.
