NPS Player Spotlight: Kris Wooten

17U Stackhouse Elite has plenty of quality size inside, but for every great team there must be a floor stretcher.

That floor stretcher is 6-foot-2 off-guard Kris Wooten. Hailing from Kinston, North Carolina, attending Arendell Parrott Academy, Wooten played an integral role in Stackhouse’s success over the weekend at the Norman Parker Shwocase.

In their 43-39 win over the Middle Georgia SuperSonics, Wooten hit a crucial late three with 1:08 remaining to give Stackhouse the separation they needed to finally put away a group that only lost one game last season. Wooten netted 12 points, all coming via the three-ball.

Wooten is best as a catch-and-shoot perimeter player, but says he is working hard on becoming a more well-rounded player accentuating the fact that he wants to get to the basket more often. The rising senior hasn’t had many bites in recruitment yet and has only heard from a handful of D-II schools.
