NPS Player Spotlight: Anthony Edwards
We spent the last week rolling out rankings for the classes of 2017, 2018 and 2019. We will examine the 2020 class in Georgia later this week. In that conversation will be Holy Spirit guard Anthony Edwards.
The 6-foot-4 guard from Atlanta was one of the top perfumers from the Norman Parker Showcase last weekend. He averaged 18 points a game for the Atlanta Xpress 15U team (playing up in 16U) over the course of six games.
If you’ve watched the guy they simply call the “Ant Man”, this shouldn’t come as a big surprise. He plays an aggressive game and has proven himself as one of the best scorers in the state of Georgia regardless of class.
Edwards moved back a grade and schools at the new year, going from Therrell to Holy Spirit Prep. He’s now considered a member of the class of 2020.
To date, Edwards says he has offers from Florida State, Auburn, Clemson, Central Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
He also said he’s being recruited by Kansas, Michigan State, Georgetown and others.
His recruitment is just getting started. The high-majors from coast-to-coast will take a peek over the coming years.
And they’ll see what we’ve seen for the last couple of years here in Atlanta - he’s an elite point producer.
