Hightower comes home to Georgia

Two and a half years ago, very few people in the very active Atlanta basketball community knew who TeShuan Hightower was. Playing at Cross Keys High School, the 6-foot-4 guard enjoyed a strong junior year but didn’t garner much attention.

He had some strong moments with the Heat Check on the travel circuit and then took off his senior season at Collins Hill High School.

Hightower picked up interest from a number of programs high and low after his play in high school and with the Atlanta Xpress. Then a move to Mt. Zion, a prep school in Maryland. The road to a college commitment was the long way road, no doubt, but it has a happy ending.

Hightower committed to the University of Georgia on Monday. He announced his decision on Twitter.

The Bulldogs have a high-ceiling combo guard who continues to grow as a player. Upside? No doubt. He’s been a borderline top 100 player for us over the last year and could very well end up back in our HoopSeen125 national rankings.

All of the late-bloomer check marks get checked with Hightower. He’s one of the better sleepers in the 2017 nationally and should prove to be a great late pickup.
