Russell taking different approach with recruitment
While prospects are lining up official campus visits this fall, Alexandria (LA) Peabody guard Cedric Russell is taking a different approach to his recruitment.
The 6-foot-2 guard wants to have the coaches in his home before he steps foot on the campus of the school that is recruiting him first.
Russell explains his approach as a fact-finding mission.
“I’ll use the (homes) visits to find out what the coaches see as my strong points, what I need to work on in my last high school season, and how they see me fitting in at their respective schools,” Russell told HoopSeen.com. “Also roster information and my family and coaches have some questions (for the coaches).”
The process of home visits is becoming clearer now. Russell said he has home visits set up with Louisiana Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, VCU and Texas Tech.
“I'm waiting on a few more coaches to let me know when they're coming,” Russell said.
