Florida State reels in Anthony Polite

Calling the state of Florida his home but a native of Switzerland, Anthony Polite enhanced his resume on the UAA circuit this past spring and summer running with the Florida Vipers travel program. Bringing in a plethora of quality, high-major scholarship offers, things came to a close today as the 6-foot-5 playmaking guard gave his verbal commitment to Florida State.

Attending  St. Andrew’s School, Polite is a lefty guard that can practically do whatever is asked out of him from a backcourt position. Once knocked for his outside jump shooting abilities, the senior guard established himself as a quality catch and shoot guy when placed off of the ball. However, his greatest value is on the ball where he can create for others on the downhill drive to the cup, is deceptively explosive at the rim, and has implemented a mid-range pull-up near the elbows of the floor.

A quality piece out on the perimeter, Polite already has a college-ready body in tow, a physical tangible that should enable for the versatile prospect to immediately pitch in next year for the ACC program. He can defend different spots on the floor, is engaged and active within the miscellaneous, and is willing and capable of doing whatever is asked from him, regardless of his spot on either end of the playing floor.

The third commitment in the 2017 class for Florida State, Polite joins his travel teammate RaiQuan Gray, a 6-foot-7, mismatch forward, and Bryan Trimble, a 6-foot-2 defensive piece in the backcourt. Together, the trio creates a top-15 class early on, all three of which should play early roles during their time in Tallahassee.
