Prep school bound Hollis coming on strong in TX
We released our HoopSeen125 last week for the class of 2017 and there were a handful of players that didn’t make the cut. They made a different list, however. The “gotta see ‘em again” list has a collection of players that we liked at first glance and wanted to re-evaluate again this summer.
Pro Skills (TX) wing Curtis Hollis is one of those players on the list. The athletic slasher was an eye-catcher at the Nike EYBL stop in Atlanta.
He’s become a popular player after his productive spring.
The Mansfield Summit grad will head to prep school in the fall. He said he is looking at IMG Academy in Florida and Sunrise Christian in Kansas. He’ll have a number of schools in tow with him when he enrolls.
Hollis, a 2016 North Texas commitment, said he is hearing from still hearing from UNT and a host of others. Florida Gulf Coast, Southern Cal, Cal State Fullerton, Lamar, Incarnate Word, UTEP and Duquesne have all shown various amounts of interest.
“But my phone has been going crazy since I reclassified,” Hollis said.
After playing at the Pangos All-American Camp last week, Hollis made a stop at Southern Cal. He said he enjoyed his time at the Pac-12 school.
“It was great. The facilities were amazing and I love the coaching staff,” Hollis said.
He visited TCU on Tuesday and could potentially visit SMU and Louisiana Tech. As the travel circuit fires back up in July, we’ll be watching him more. So should schools looking for an athletic wing.
