Haskett makes the call for Harvard
Tommy Amaker and his staff continued their recent success on the recruiting trail at Harvard on Thursday, as the Crimson landed an early pledge from 2017 Chesterfield (VA) L.C. Bird combo guard Mario Haskett.
"I believe Coach Amaker and the rest of the staff can help me develop my game and elevate it to the next level," Haskett told HoopSeen.com. "I also have a chance to set things up for life after basketball."
Haskett plans to take his official visit to Harvard the weekend of September 17th. Wendell Carter, the No. 1 overall player in the 2017 class, has already planned his official visit to campus for that weekend, too.
"I'm definitely going to get in contact with him," Haskett replied when asked about recruiting the 5-star big man.
Haskett is Harvard's first pledge in the 2017 class. A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Haskett brings a scoring punch on the offensive end of the floor. However, he is most effective on defensive with his length, size, quickness, and versatility. The Virginia native is known as one of the top perimeter defenders in the country.
