Wes Morgan makes the early call for North Florida
Shortly after an official scholarship offer was made, 2017 Charlotte (NC) Ardrey Kell wing Wes Morgan couldn’t say no to the opportunity to play at North Florida. Within an hour, Morgan accepted the offer and committed to Matt Driscoll and company.
“I am proud to say I am fully committed to the University of North Florida,” Morgan posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. “Coach Driscoll’s plan for me is something I can’t pass up.”
Morgan, a 6-foot-5 sniper from 3, was a standout at Gibbons this past weekend. He is an elite shooter off the catch and knows how to get himself open off screens. In fact, Friday evening in his first game of the event, Morgan knocked down eight 3’s en route to 28 points.
Morgan also had offers from Maryland Eastern Shore and UNC-Greensboro, along with interest from Middle Tennessee State, Furman, Wofford, and Fairfield.
He joins another talented shooter in Florida native Ryan Burkhardt, as they will make quite the shooting tandem on the perimeter in the Atlantic Sun.
