Tre Mann displays immense upside and value at #Gibbons
One of the names to know down south within the 2019 class began his story this past weekend at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. Tre Mann has all of the ball skills in the world that any high school lead guard would wish for along with an amazing intellect and feel for the game. The 5-foot-11 guard is not just another name on a roster sheet but rather a high-level ballplayer that has the chance to be a big time college recruit.
The primary ballhandler for the E1T1 15-under bunch, a team that played all of the way until the final contest coming up short in the championship outing on Sunday, Mann left his fingerprints on every game that he suited up in. He shoots the basketball with the best of them and is very difficult in guarding out of high-ball screen situations. Whenever his defender decides to fight the screen, Mann will simply go right around his opponent before showcasing his balanced and killer floater from 10-feet and in.
The definition of floor general that makes all of the right reads and plays with the basketball in his hands while remaining engaged on the defensive end of the floor, Mann might not pass the looks test just yet, but a growth spurt could be on the horizon. “I could grow to 6-foot-6,” the Sunshine State native said. “My mom is 6-foot-4 and my dad is 6-foot-3.”
If a growth spurt does occur and muscle gain follows a similar order, expect for Mann’s game to take off. In the meantime, the product of The Villages School, located in Gainesville, Florida, has already seen his recruitment begin. “North Florida and Lynn has offered me,” the freshman guard told HoopSeen.
Attending Florida’s elite camp at the beginning of June, Mann used Gibbons as the stepping stone in becoming a well-known name throughout the south and with more time given, the E1T1 star should see his recruitment soar as his days march onward.
