Recruitment set to take off for Ashton Hagans
2019 Covington (GA) Newton point guard Ashton Hagans made his mark as one of the top freshmen in the state of Georgia and the Southeast this season. The strong, physical point guard is a terrific passer in transition and lives in the lane. He showcased both of those at the Norman Parker Showcase last weekend.
Despite only being a freshman, the 6-foot-3 floor general is already receiving plenty of college interest. In fact, he already has a scholarship offer on the table.
“Georgia has offered me,” Hagans told HoopSeen.com. “Mississippi State, Tennessee, Miami, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Radford, and Georgia Southern are interested.”
Playing with the talented Georgia Stars 15U team on the EYBL circuit, expect plenty more high-major programs to add Hagans to their early 2019 list.
Hagans was also named to the NPS 16U All-Tournament team.
