Elite Preview Profile: Christian Brown
The Preview brought in the very best college prospects throughout the Peach State this past Saturday to the Suwanee Sports Academy. However, there were a few others that leaked into the event from other neighboring states where it was Christian Brown who may have sported the highest of upsides out of anyone competing over the weekend.
A 6-foot-6 wing that has quickly developed a perimeter skillset, Brown first jumped onto the scene and was valued as a high-energy guy who was active within the miscellaneous and lightning quick off his feet. While he sports a slender body type, Brown already boasts supreme toughness in fighting through contact at the basket as he can make a living on the offensive glass and on highlight dunks out on the break.
The native of Columbia, South Carolina, who will run with the Georgia Stars 15-under bunch this spring and summer, was one of the most entertaining guys to watch all day long in Suwanee. Attending AC Flora High School, Brown is fresh off of a state championship where he finished with 15 points in his team’s title clinching victory a few weeks back.
A well-spoken freshman with a bevy of potential to him, college programs have already taken note of the high upside and versatile weapon. “My coach doesn’t tell me about my offers but I do know that Georgia Southern offered me back in the seventh-grade,” Brown told HoopSeen. “I have also received interest from Yale, Brown, Tennessee, UConn, UNC, South Carolina, Florida State, Clemson, and NC State.”
While there is still some time to go before any sort of college commitment takes place, it should be worth noting just how high the basketball ceiling is for Christian Brown and the recruitment that is due to take place for the play making wing out of South Carolina.
