2025 Bama Jam: 16U Top Performers, Part I
HOOVER, AL – Another Bama Jam is officially in the rearview mirror for us here at HoopSeen and like the previous renditions, the 2025 edition of action has plenty to talk about.
We’re continuing our event coverage by looking at the top performers from the 16U division, headlined by some of the best overall players in the event.
Without further adieu, here’s our first installation of the top performers from the 16U division…
Brendon Davis, Birmingham Blaze: There’s so much intrigue that comes with Davis’ game. The long, lanky 6-foot-4 guard has a lot of natural ball skills that make him a gifted player on the offensive end of the floor. He makes shots at a high rate off the catch and off the dribble, but he’s also good enough to put it on the floor and create scoring opportunities for others. I said this Friday night and I’ll stick by it: Davis was one of the best long-term prospects I saw all weekend. The Birmingham (AL) Wenonah guard is a name to know going forward. - Garrett Tucker
Riley Bryant, Alabama Celtics: Bryant has been highly regarded in the state of Alabama for a few years now. We saw exactly why at Bama Jam, as the physical guard showcased his all-around game. Playing primarily with the ball in his hands, Bryant acted as a scorer and facilitator throughout the weekend. The Thompson (AL) guard mixed things up on offense, whether it was making shots from the perimeter or using his strong frame to guide himself through the lane and make tough finishes at the rim. Bryant, one of the top sophomores in the state, always seems to be under control and polished with his game. - Garrett Tucker
Ayden Meadows, Pro One Academic: Looking back on the weekend, Meadows is one of the guys I’m most excited about following up on later in the travel season. While he’s 6-foot-1, the athletic guard has a couple of inches-plus wingspan and he made the most of that length. The Hendersonville (TN) guard stayed in passing lanes throughout the event and caused havoc for opposing teams. On offense, he has a knack for getting downhill and playing off two feet in the lane. It’s still early, but I’ll go out on a limb and say Meadows is a Division I guy for this Pro One Academic team. He could be an ideal fit for a program similar to how VCU has played historically. - Garrett Tucker
Maddox Singletary, TG Pro Select: TG Pro Select made the trip over from Mississippi for Bama Jam and they made the trip worthwhile, as they went home champions of the 16U Orange bracket. The success they found inside the Finley Center was in part because of Singletary, a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. The 6-foot-1 guard sliced and diced defenses, making his presence known in the lane throughout the weekend. Singletary also excelled in transition, where he was able to put his speed and athleticism to use. Keep an eye on this Mississippi native. - Garrett Tucker
Tucker Powers, Shockers 2027: Who doesn’t like shooters with some size? That’s exactly what you get with Tucker Powers, who torched the nets for Shockers 2027. The 6-foot-3 wing is in range when he passes half-court, evident by some of the shots he made over the weekend. The Nolensville (TN) product is strong enough to put it on the floor and take some bumps in the lane, too. He made several nifty drives that resulted in scores going to the basket. Powers made a nice opening impression to open the spring. - Garrett Tucker
