Ty Davis commits to Creighton
2024 Mountain Brook (AL) point guard Ty Davis announced his commitment to Creighton on Monday.
“I’m committing to Creighton,” Davis told HoopSeen.com. “I ultimately chose Creighton because of how much Coach [Greg] McDermott, the entire staff, and the players made me feel at home while I was on my visit. The Big East conference is the best basketball conference in the nation. I also love the culture, the university, and the amazing fans that support the Bluejays.”
Davis, a 6-foot-5 point guard, chose the Bluejays over Northwestern and Oregon.
McDermott extended a scholarship offer to Davis in late May following the end of the spring travel season. Since then, the Bluejays have made the floor general a priority in the 2024 recruiting cycle. In fact, McDermott was in Hoover last Friday to watch Davis during the AHSAA Team Camp. Davis then returned the favor with an official visit to Omaha on Monday.
“All of the coaches really made me feel like a priority by texting and calling on a daily basis. Coach McDermott came to watch me in person last week, along with Coach Williams who was there with him and stayed the entire weekend,” he explained.
What can Bluejays’ fans expect with Davis?
“Coach McDermott likes my versatility with my size and being able to guard multiple positions. He loves my playmaking skills and vision, especially coming off ball screens, and my ability to shoot it with range.”
Davis is currently ranked as the second overall prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 125 prospect in the 2024 HoopSeen rankings.
