Visitor of the Weekend: Andrew Nembhard to Florida

With the first day of college basketball practice officially kicking off on Friday, schools from around the country will host some of their biggest targets, as coaches attempt to give prospects an inside-look of their respective program.

This week's visitor of the weekend focuses on the SEC. 2018 Montverde Academy (FL) point guard Andrew Nembhard will make the short trip over to Gainesville to officially visit the Florida Gators.

Nembhard, who recently reclassified up to the 2018 class, is known as one of the best passers in high school basketball. The Canadian prospect has made his mark on the travel circuit and in the international game with his high IQ, steady ball-handling, and proficient passing abilities.

Since Nembhard's reclassification, Florida head coach Mike White and his staff have prioritized the talented lead guard. In fact, most see the Gators as the current favorite to secure Nembhard's commitment.

Florida was originally slated to host Nembhard in two weeks, but due to the urgency of the visit, both parties were able to move things up to this weekend. Gonzaga, Ohio State, and USC have been involved, too.

With the Gators prepared to lose senior Chris Chiozza and possibly junior KeVaughn Allen, this is a vital weekend for the program to make a hard sell at one of its biggest backcourt priorities. With that being said, Florida will also play host to four-star shooting guard Noah Locke, who has staked his claim as one of the best shooters in the country over the past year.

This will be Locke's fifth and final official visit. Michigan, Ohio State, Providence, and Xavier are also being considered.

Expect decisions to come soon from both Nembhard and Locke. If Florida can land one of the two - if not both of them - White and his staff will be ecstatic as the college basketball season is getting underway.
