Live Summer Festival Profile: Tariq Simmons

Over the course of his travel basketball career, Upward Stars point guard Tariq Simmons has won a lot of games, with many of those wins coming in HoopSeen events. This includes being an all tournament performer at the 2016 Bob Gibbons TOC.
That play has earned him a lot of attention from a wide range of college coaches.
“College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Stephen F. Austin have all offered,” Simmons said. “But I’m hearing from Memphis, UCF, St. Joseph’s, and VCU. I’m hearing from Memphis a lot,” he added.
“I’m planning on visiting VCU later in July, I’m not sure of the exact dates yet though,” Simmons said.
Simmons is a hard-nosed guard that prides himself on the defensive side of the floor and could be a guard that wins a lot of games at the next level. His recruitment will be interesting to watch over the course of the next few weeks and beyond.
Simmons is currently ranked as the ninth best player in South Carolina for the class of 2017.
