Elias Harden pledges to Musketeers

Just following a travel season with Game Elite, Pebblebrook (GA) shooting guard Elias Harden has decided to end his recruitment and commit to Xavier University and head coach Chris Mack.
“I chose Xavier because I felt like the school was a comfortable fit for me,” Harden said. “I have a great relationship with Coach Mack and Coach Pegues, and they said that I will play a big role my freshman year, so I’m looking forward to it!,” he added.
Harden is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard that has made his mark doing just that, shooting the ball. However, the coaching staff at Xavier envision him doing much more than providing his marksmanship.
“They see me contributing all around: shooting, scoring, defending. More of a combo guard,” Harden said.
Xavier is no stranger to coming south to Georgia for top-100 players. In their 2015 class, they recruited Saint Francis forward Kaiser Gates, who had a solid freshman campaign for the Musketeers.
“I spoke with him a little bit and I talked to him about coming here when I visited,” Harden said of Gates.
Harden also held offers from Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech among others. He joins Mokan Elite small forward Jared Ridder, in what has the makings of a very good class for the Musketeers.
