Georgia Cup IV Saturday Notes
The fourth installment of the Georgia Cup is coming down the stretch and teams are beginning to establish themselves as contenders for a championship. Here are a few notes from a full Saturday of action:
- The 16U and 15U divisions are very competitive again this weekend. In the 15U division, we have seen impressive performances from Team EAT, Team Forrest, Southern Stampede, Game Elite Orange, Georgia Stars, and TNBC. It will be interesting to see how everything settles in the 9th grade division. In 16U, both divisions have teams that have had good showings. Middle Georgia Supersonics, Georgia Bulls, EOTO, Georgia Jazz, BCB, and Team Strong have had good weekends.
- Southern Stampede 15U provided some entertainment. Archer 2019 guard Brendan Tucker showed his athleticism en route to an impressive 31-point performance. However, the most eye opening performer of the entire weekend was Elias King (pictured) of Shiloh. King is a long 6-foot-5 combo guard that has enormous potential. He has great court awareness and can score the ball from all three levels of the floor. King has the potential to be one of the top players in Georgia in the 2019 class if he continues to develop his game.
- Game Elite has an impressive bunch in different age groups. In the 15U division, Kenyon Jackson of Grayson had some good performances. Jackson has good size and plays very hard. He has the potential to be a very good player in Gwinnett County. Also in the 13U division, George Pridgett showed an impressive skill set and the potential to be a player to watch for in the coming years.
