Georgia's Three Hottest Prospects
The April live period has come and gone, and Georgia’s loaded 2017 class has held the big stage long enough to make their impression on college coaches from all over the country. Here are three players in the Peach that made the most of the live period:
Collin Sexton, Southern Stampede, 2017: Is there a hotter prospect in the nation? Probably not. Sexton is the leading scorer on the Nike EYBL circuit by a wide margin, averaging over 30 points per game. His play has everyone who sees him buzzing and people calling for his national ranking to skyrocket. Sexton has earned offers from Florida State, Arizona, Central Florida, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, Texas A&M, and Missouri over the last two weeks in Brooklyn and Indianapolis.
Alex O’Connell, Team United, 2017: The Milton High School super scorer has shown exactly what he can do on the Nike circuit running with Team United. O’Connell has not only been a big time scorer over the last two weekends, he has done it very efficiently, shooting over 60% from the field and over 40% from three. That scoring ability has earned him offers from Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Toledo, and Tulane all within the last week.
Brian Thomas, Game Elite, 2017: Thomas earned his very first offer earlier this spring after the HoopSeen Elite Preview and has blown up since. The Kell High School big man is an elite level rim protector and has shown his value to potential college suitors in the last two weeks. In that time, he has gathered offers from Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Furman, Florida Gulf Coast, Winthrop, Brown, and his first high major offer from Mississippi State to add to his other offers from South Alabama, Wofford, & Kennesaw State from earlier in the spring.
