Schools continue to track Mario Haskett
Quite possibly the best junior within the Richmond, Virginia area, Mario Haskett has been the go-to guy for his LC Bird bunch all winter long while also picking up priority attention by those throughout the east coast.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and with a penchant for making timely shots and carrying his bunch on the scoreboard, it is Haskett’s scoring prowess that has brought in so many programs in to recruit the tough junior. With his team on the cusp of a VHSL final four appearance, college coaches have continued to make their way in to see the heady play maker. “Virginia Tech, VCU, Creighton, Georgetown, and Harvard have either come to a game of mine or the gym in the past few weeks,” Haskett said.
A product of the River City Reign bunch, the same travel program that was highlighted last year on the 17-under circuit by Providence signee Malik White and Towson signee JJ Mathews, it is now Haskett’s time to shine. Holding offers from such programs as Creighton, Minnesota, Cincinnati, and Richmond, there are a few others that have made the Richmond native a priority thus far. “I talk the most with Harvard, Yale, Virginia Tech, VCU, Providence, and Vanderbilt,” the LC Bird guard told HoopSeen.
Planning on visiting VCU this evening for the Rams’ contest with Davidson, look for Mario Haskett’s stock to continue to blossom as one of the more highly productive and tough guards on the east coast this summer.
