Final Georgia 2016 Rankings
The players in the class of 2016 have fully left their mark on Georgia high school basketball and are prepared to move on to the next level. With their impression fully ingrained on the landscape of the high school basketball scene, we have done our final update to the HoopSeen Georgia 2016 rankings.
Change Up Top
When you have two McDonald’s All Americans that play the same position, the debate between the two can get intense. That is the exact problem that we have with this class with the top two players, Alterique Gilbert and Kobi Simmons. Both players have had incredible careers, won multiple state championships, and will be successful at the next level. However, in our final rankings, Alterique Gilbert leaves as the number one player in the state of Georgia in 2016. The UConn-bound point guard was one of the state’s best winners in his career at Miller Grove and will be an immediate-impact type of player for the Huskies next year.

Rankings Climbers
One of the highest climbers in the top ten is Apalachee guard and future Butler Bulldog Kamar Baldwin. The lefty guard had a fantastic career and could be one of the bigger sleepers entering the Big East conference next year.
Joining him as a player who took a leap up the rankings is Grady guard Avi Toomer, who will be at Bucknell next year. Toomer had a monster senior season and became one of the state’s best scorers. With the way that he can knock down shots, look for him to make a big impact at a very good Bucknell program.
Newcomers
There are a number of players who are joining the ranks of the top players in the class in the state. Making his rankings debut is Collins Hill combo guard TeShaun Hightower. The 6-foot-4 combo guard showed his versatility all season and was a very instrumental piece to a great season for Collins Hill.
Also joining the rankings is Lambert forward Connor Mannion, who will play at the next level at Navy. Mannion is one of the state’s best rebounders and has the ability to stretch the floor as well as play on the interior.
