Crawford County gets revenge over Seminole County
ROBERTA, GA -- It had been a little over eleven months since Seminole County’s 76-71 win against Crawford County in the AA state championship at the Macon Centreplex last March.
And nobody in Crawford County has forgotten it.
The highly anticipated scene in Roberta, Georgia was rowdy, with fans hyped and lined up around the block on Manor Street over an hour before tipoff to get a seat for this one.
They came in droves to support their Eagles, and their Eagles responded beautifully.
Crawford County came out of the gates playing the fast-paced style they have been known to play for years under head coach Clyde Zachery. The backcourt duo of Monkeize Moore and Will Jarrell had it going early, giving the raucous crowd something to cheer about.
That same crowd boosted Crawford County, creating an environment that Seminole County did not look comfortable in. The Indians looked somewhat timid, with nobody looking very confident. Nobody except for star UGA-bound wing Jordan Harris, that is.
Harris kept the Indians in the game early, doing a little bit of everything and providing a huge spark, just as he did in last year’s title game.
However, Harris’ heroics of a year ago were not to happen on this night, with far too much firepower on the Crawford County side.
Between Will Jarrell (27 points, 10 rebounds), Marcal Knolton (23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks), Monkeize Moore (17 points), and some hot perimeter shooting from a number of players, Crawford County put on an offensive show to take the win 95-64.
In the loss for Seminole County, Jordan Harris had 37 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a fantastic performance.
