Recruitment heating up for 2017 PF Malik William

Southeast Elite (FL) consistently found themselves competing for championships last spring and summer at Suwanee Sports Academy. 2017 Orlando (FL) The First Academy power forward Malik William was a big reason why the Florida squad competed so well.

The 6-foot-8 big man has extremely long arms and broad shoulders. He can block shots with the best of ‘em and he throws full-courtoverhead outlet passes like Kevin Love. Add in some skill and the ability to knock down a 15-foot jumper and you have an intriguing young post prospect.

While things have been quiet on the recruitment front for the first half of the season, the action is beginning to pick up for William and his teammate Chaundee Brown. UConn extended scholarship offers to the duo a few weeks ago. Following that offer, William made an unofficial visit to Clemson on Sunday, as he saw the Tigers knock off conference foe Louisville.

“My visit was great. I love everything about Clemson,” William told HoopSeen.com following his visit.

Clemson head coach Brad Brownell is a fan of William, too. He also extended an offer in their one-on-one meeting during the day.

“I watched the game, then I had a one-on-one session with Coach Brownell. I also went on a tour of the campus. It feels great to get an offer from a school in one of the best conferences in America.”

Clemson and UConn join the likes of UCF and Northern Arizona to offer William. However, more scholarship opportunities are on the horizon.

“Miami, Georgia, and Oklahoma are showing interest right now,” he reported.

As the spring AAU season continues to draw near, remember the name Malik William. He will be a priority guy for many mid-major and high-major programs.
