Christian David becomes a priority for three programs

Every spring, there are a few prospects that jump onto the page as priority-level, high-major guys heading into their senior summer. Christian David, a 6-foot-6 wing out of Vermont Academy, may have already gotten a start on that breakout campaign. It was his time at the Hoop Hall Classic over the weekend that enabled for the Canadian prospect to display his vast upside and ball skills on the perimeter.

Suiting up alongside Bruce Brown, one of the toughest and hard-nosed prospects in all of high school ball, David has been able to come along slowly in developing his mean streak and go-to mentality in the backcourt. Still though, the first year transfer into the prep program has allowed for David to develop his entire package of abilities and a game that could make him one of the most thoroughly recruited prospects within his 2017 recruiting class.

By way of his quality outside jumper, the 6-foot-6 junior can be quickly labeled a specialist on the perimeter. However, David is more than just a shooter of the ball as he can facilitate within the half-court setting, can drive and distribute with his off-hand, and is deceptively athletic at the basket. Throw in his versatility that touches both sides of the playing floor and David has everything that you might want in a top of the line prospect.

Walking away with his newest offers out of Seton Hall and Virginia Tech due to his play over the weekend, David originally listed 10 offers ranging from the mid to high-major level. It is three of those programs that have put in the most work with him. “George Washington, Creighton, and Providence are recruiting me the hardest right now,” the Canadian stated. “They really want me. They are just telling me that I'm their top recruit and fit into program really well.”

Planning to take some visits in the spring, the Vermont Academy junior does have a good feel for what he is looking for in a future college home. “I like teams that spread the floor, drive and kick, and like shooting the 3,” David told HoopSeen.

With others such as Virginia and Michigan are showing further interest, expect for the fluid recruitment of Christian David to hit full steam ahead this spring as he suits up for the talented CIA Bounce bunch.
