Oliver has a decision timetable set
There is light at the end of the tunnel for 2017 Daniel (SC) shooting guard A.J. Oliver. The star junior will have an early college decision, making his commitment prior to his first game of his high school season on December 1.
Oliver, a co-MVP of the Fall Preview a few weeks ago, gives insight on the reason for his quick commitment. “I needed to focus on my academics; all my stuff wasn’t up to date and I had too many distractions”
Down to a final three of Clemson, where his mother is the head women’s coach at, Texas Tech, and College of Charleston, the junior guard gave insight on what stands out about each three.
Clemson:
“Personally, it’s a great coaching staff, a great school, I love the football atmosphere, and I want to try and get that type of atmosphere for basketball games.”
Texas Tech:
“I like the coaching staff. They know my mother well and I’ve heard nothing but great things about them and I just feel like they are really good people.”
College of Charleston:
“The head coach was recruiting me at Clemson then left to go to College of Charleston and then after I took my visit, I fell in love with every minute of it.”
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has a nice blend of skill and athleticism. He is a rangy shooter with a high IQ, as well as one of the most underrated guys on the national front. While Oliver will take an unofficial visit to Oregon over the Thanksgiving weekend, Oliver has all the tools to be a top-50 recruit nationally and quality steal for any of his final three.
