What Indiana is getting in Al Durham
Berkmar 2017 guard Al Durham is a part of Georgia’s loaded 2017 class that includes a number of high major players. But with his commitment to Indiana today, just what are the Hoosiers and Tom Crean getting with him?
First, they are getting a player with a big time scorers mentality. Durham can score the ball in a variety of ways and shoots the ball at a very high level. He also looks to attack and either get to the rim or use an effective pull up jump shot. He could develop into a good scorer at the next level.
Second, they are getting a player that is beginning to blossom even further from the player he has been for his first two years at Berkmar. He is developing into a true combo guard, able to play both the point and off the ball. He has become even craftier with the dribble and can get anywhere he needs to go on the floor. He is also developing into a big time athlete. One big difference in him at the fall showcases he attended was his athleticism. He looks much bouncier and confident finishing above the rim.
Last, they are getting a guard with a very high ceiling. Tom Crean has a good reputation since his days at Marquette for developing guards. He and his staff will have a lot to work with in Al Durham. He is a guard with good size and the framework for a very effective game at the next level. He could develop into a very good player for the Hoosiers in the Big Ten.
