Team Preview:  Milton has not been a stranger to having talent come through their program. This year is no different, with a good mix of big time returning players and newcomers looking to make an impact. Their key returning player is Harvard bound big man Chris Lewis, who is one of Georgia’s top players in 2016 and provides the Eagles with something that is hard to find in the state right now: size. Lewis is a strong presence in the middle and should provide a lot of offense for Milton as he can step out and hit the mid range as well as score on the block and on the offensive glass. Joining him as a key returner is junior wing Alex O’Connell. O’Connell came onto the scene last season and had his moments where he showed flashes of being a big-time scorer. This year could be his time, with more scoring responsibility being placed on his shoulders. He could be an emerging star this year as far as 2017 prospects are concerned.

Milton also brings in a few newcomers who will be big contributors to this team. The biggest of which is Northview transfer sophomore point guard Justin Brown. Brown averaged fifteen points per game as a freshman and has a knack for scoring the ball. He will also assume a lot of the ball handling duties. He could also blossom into one of the better sophomores in the state this year. Also coming in is former Buford big man Kyrin Galloway, who will give the Eagles more size in addition to Chris Lewis and a lengthy rim protector. He will play a very important role on this team as a presence in the middle. The last of the impact newcomers is Kell transfer and junior point guard Kendrick Summerour. He is a great ball-handler and more of a true point guard as opposed to Brown, who is more of a scorer. It will be interesting to see how he and Brown mix in the Milton backcourt. Overall, this is one of the more talented teams in AAAAAA and they will be in the conversation when all is said and done.
