Fall Preview Spotlight: Payton Stovall

2017 Winfield (AL) point guard Payton Stovall was one of the most exciting playmakers at last weekend’s Fall Preview. The 6-foot guard kept defenses on their toes with his passing and ball-handling ability.

Stovall proved himself as one of the most reliable point guards in camp. Several college programs are beginning to take notice of one of Alabama’s best rural secrets.

“Alabama-Huntsville, North Alabama, Montevallo, Lincoln Memorial, and Marion Military are showing interest in me,” Stovall told HoopSeen.com. “And Samford called my assistant coach last week.”

It should be another exciting year for Winfield basketball. Last season, they advanced to regionals before losing to Madison Academy. As the year goes on, expect more and more coaches to take notice of Stovall’s talents.

He currently checks in at No. 27 in the 2017 Alabama rankings.
