Wendell Moore quickly becoming a name to know

The freshmen class in the high school ranks is slowly getting woven into the fabric that is college basketball recruitment. However, for a select few, colleges have already had them on their radar for some time now and offers are already being placed, even though it might be four whole years before they set foot onto a college campus. This could be said for Wendell Moore, a 6-foot-5 wing out of Charlotte, North Carolina, who recently received an offer from Charlotte, and picked up another from Tennessee today.

Born in Richmond, Virginia, and having moved to the Charlotte region when he was three, there is a ton of talent, the physique, and mindset at the 3-spot on the floor for Moore to be quite the college ballplayer. Although it is still a bit of a ways off, the physical and tough playmaker is super versatile already where he can score the ball from deep, on slices to the basket, and has the vision in setting others up in the half-court setting. Throw in his multi-positional defensive capabilities along with his high end intangibles, and what you have is a good looking, priority recruit for the best of programs nationally.

After taking a visit to UNC-Charlotte last weekend and receiving his first offer from the program, Tennessee stepped into the Cox Mill High gym on Thursday and dished out an offer to the freshman. When asked about all the early offers and interest, Moore replied, “It’s great man! I am just taking it all in and working hard.”

With visits planned to NC State on October 3, Kentucky and Tennessee trips on the weekend of October 9, and Wake Forest on January 6, this seems to just be the beginning of things to come for the productive and super promising freshman out of Charlotte. With shades of former Duke star Justice Winslow, Moore seems to be the next in line from the 2019 class out of the loaded state that is North Carolina.
