Aaron Augustin commits to ETSU
Miller Grove (GA) 2016 point guard Aaron Augustin has given his commitment to East Tennessee State and coach Steve Forbes.
Augustin likes the direction in which the program at ETSU is headed and thinks that he can be successful under the coaching staff.
“I just believe in Coach Forbes’ vision for the program. They have some big time players there this year and most of them will be returning,” Augustin told HoopSeen.
He also likes the staff’s history with coaching successful point guards and has been compared to a few well-known guards.
“I just felt like Coach Forbes has a history with point guards. At Wichita State he helped mold Fred Van Vleet, who he says I remind him a lot of. He also coached Acie Law at Texas A&M and Chris Lofton at Tennessee,” Augustin said. “He has a background of winning, and that’s what I’m about.”
Augustin is currently ranked eighteenth on the HoopSeen 2016 Georgia rankings, and has long been mentioned among the best point guards in the state.
My Take on Augustin to ETSU
Aaron Augustin continues the trend of the 2016 class choosing programs that are a fantastic fit for them. ETSU is getting a very steady point guard with a college ready body that can come in and contribute right away. Augustin is a two-way player who plays a very physical brand of basketball on both ends of the floor. He fits exactly what the Buccaneers’ staff wants to do. I love the fit and think that he is a point guard that can win a number of games at ETSU.
