Turner chooses Gardner-Webb
Sandy Creek (GA) & Heat Check point guard Christian Turner has committed to the Runnin’ Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb University.
The crafty left-handed floor general has long been a factor among the point guards in the state of Georgia, and is now one of the names that is off the board among a very deep class of 2016 point guards and combo guards in the state.
Turner cited Garnder-Webb head coach Tim Craft and his staff as well as the opportunity for early playing time as big reasons for his decision to choose the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
Turner was the floor general for a Heat Check team that has long been a factor among travel teams in the southeast and earned a reputation for playing well in pick and roll situations and finding teammates.
Turner said that the coaching staff envisions using him in “a lot of pick and rolls and just pushing the ball in transition”.
This early commitment will help shape the big picture when it comes to the 2016 guard class in Georgia, particularly among mid major and low major prospects, which there is an abundance of.
