McGusty is a Sooner
Over the weekend, 2016 Katy (TX) Seven Lakes shooting guard Kameron McGusty told HoopSeen.com he was preparing to cut his list down to three of four schools once he returned home to discuss things with his parents.
Instead, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard went ahead and made his verbal pledge to Oklahoma on Monday.
“Oklahoma was home for me,” McGusty explained. “It has the best opportunities for me.”
McGusty, a talented scorer, also considered Louisville, Florida, and Texas A&M.
He will have the opportunity to come in and compete for playing time right away, as the Sooners will lose guard Buddy Hield to the NBA. McGusty led the UA Association in regular season scoring this spring and summer.
McGusty joins Kristian Doolittle to join Oklahoma’s current two-man recruiting class.
