Williams attracting a wide variety of schools
2016 Charlotte (NC) Providence Day School power forward Grant Williams is starting to see his recruitment take the next step. After a productive spring with Team CP3, a wide variety of schools are now interested in his services.
Several mid-major schools and high academic schools have already extended offers. Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Wofford, Charlotte, Tennessee, Richmond, and Appalachian State are among the scholarship offers for Williams. However, a host of high majors will monitor him in July.
“I have interest from schools like Providence, Wake Forest, Texas, Texas Tech, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Stanford,” Williams told HoopSeen.com.
Williams, a 6-foot-8 big man, averaged eight points for CP3 on the Nike EYBL circuit. Their wins have attracted a lot of college coach’s attention.
“AAU season has been great so far. I’ve been playing well for CP3 and we were regular season EYBL champs.”
While his recruitment still has a few months to take shape, Williams already knows what he is looking for in a school. He hopes to have a decision at the back part of his senior year.
“I want a good family aspect, a great relationship with the coaches, a place where I can come in and play, and a place where I have the best opportunity to achieve my dreams,” he explained.
Despite the heavy high-major interest, an Ivy League school has made their early work noticed to this point.
“I would say Yale is coming the hardest right now.”
With a variety of different schools coming from assorted levels, it will be interesting to see who Williams will be the highest on after July.
