Spring Story Starter: Trent Frazier
Coming into the first April evaluation period, 2017 Wellington (FL) guard Trent Frazier was an unknown prospect to many hoop heads in the south. However, after some big performances at the Atlanta Jam, the rising junior is a familiar name for hoop heads.
Frazier, a 6-foot-2 combo guard, held offers from North Florida and Stephen F. Austin prior to suiting up with the Wellington Wolves at Suwanee Sports Academy. On his trip home Sunday afternoon, the superb scorer already held a new offer from Middle Tennessee State, along with plenty of other schools interested.
The southpaw is one of the best scorers from the perimeter we have seen this spring. Despite his size, he can score in bunches, whether it be at the rim or from behind the three-point line. Frazier’s value as a high-volume scorer is as good as anyone that has passed through the SSA doors this spring. He proved that with several big scoring outings, including a 37-point performance on Saturday at the #ATLJam.
Before the live period, Frazier held a couple of low-major offers. Now, he’s sitting on the fence between mid-major and high-major, as a variety of schools are keeping tabs on him.
Central Florida, Louisiana Tech, Illinois State, Rhode Island, San Francisco, and Georgia Tech are among those interested.
Trent Frazier started his story as well as anyone did this spring at SSA.
