Florida 2016 rankings have few changes

The state of Florida has and will always have a host of prospects worthy of national recruitment and recognition. As we put an end to the spring, here’s a look at our updated top 20 for the class of 2016.

STACKING ‘EM 1, 2 AND 3

To the surprise of no one, Udoka Azubuike remains at the top of the list. The 6-foot-11 rim-bender from Jacksonville’ Potter’s House was one of the toughest big men in the country. He was absolutely dominant at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions and the Norman Parker Showcase.

Jonathan Isaac made the most significant jump of any player in the state of Florida on our newest set of rankings. We moved him up from No. 4 to No. 2 overall. In fact, when we release our national rankings for the class of 2016, Isaac could contend for a top 10 overall spot.

Dewan Huell was one of the three best big men Justin Young saw in the spring. The 6-foot-10 big man from Miami Norland was one of the best overall players on the UA Association circuit in the spring. He checks in at No. 3 overall.

BIG RISERS & NEW NAMES

Trent Forrest was the model of efficiency over the course of the spring for the Georgia Stars, one of the best travel teams in the country. The future Florida State guard was one of the best rebounding guards on the Nike EYBL circuit. He climbed from No. 11 to No. 6 overall.

De’Rionte Jenkins, a South Carolina native, had a monster spring with the Upward Stars and will spend a post-grad year at Oldsmar Christian. He checks in at No. 12 overall. Tobias Howard, an Atlanta area native, will move from IMG to West Oaks. The point guard is now No. 16 overall on the list.
