Several schools prioritizing Lyons
One of the hottest mid-major prospects in the country over the past month has been 2016 McIntosh (GA) shooting guard Jordan Lyons. After picking up a number of scholarship offers during the live period and hosting schools for visits, the sharpshooter is becoming a priority guy for several programs.
Lyons’ recruitment spans throughout the Southeast, as he claims offers from Middle Tennessee State, Troy, Old Dominion, Liberty, Tennessee Tech, Wofford, Mercer, Abilene Christian, Radford, UNC-Wilmington, Furman, and Samford. All of these schools and more have tried to show their strong interest in him this spring.
“Wofford, Belmont, Troy, Tennessee Tech, Furman, High Point, and Samford have come in to watch me work out lately,” Lyons told HoopSeen.com. “I’ve also had in-home visits with Troy and Furman.”
The early in-home visits show both Furman and Troy’s high level of interest in the 6-foot-1 shooting guard.
“Troy’s in-home visit went really well. They are probably recruiting me the hardest. They were the first school to do an in-home with me. They feel like I am the missing piece to the puzzle. Troy wants me to come in and score a lot my freshman year, but by my sophomore year they want to be able to rely on me.”
“Furman’s visit went well, too. They are coming hard. They just touched base and went over some things we have talked about.”
Lyons will also do some due diligence by taking some additional visits this summer. He has visited several of the campuses, including Middle Tennessee, Mercer, Troy, and Wofford.
“After school is over I’m going to try to schedule some visits. I know I’m going back to Middle Tennessee State soon. And I want to get to Radford and Samford soon, too.”
