GA State snags Donaldson
In basketball recruiting, the revolving door of college coaching changes can rearrange things for prospects. When Will Wade left Chattanooga for Virginia Commonwealth, Jonesboro (GA) point guard Austin Donaldson found himself looking for a new place to call home for college.
Donaldson was granted a release from the Mocs and jumped right back into the recruiting process. Georgia State didn’t waste any time and recruited the two-time state champion point guard.
Donaldson visited on Monday and decided to commit to the Panthers on Tuesday.
He joins D’Marcus Simonds, a 2016 shooting guard from Gainesville (GA) in the strong recruiting haul for the Panthers over the last seven days. Assistant coach Claude Pardue played a big role in both commitments.
The Panthers are getting a tough, defensive-minded point guard that has proven himself as one of the best facilitators in the Southeast this season.
